Water Safety Plans are proposed as the way forward for ensuring reliable drinking water, and online control parameters are the foremost tool for ensuring continuous compliance of Critical Control Points. Online microbiological monitoring allow us to link quality disruptions with operational or environmental changes. In systems with microbiological risk, measuring online a parameter directly linked with bacterial activity allows operations to detect events that otherwise would had become undetected, thus increasing the safety of the operation.
