World's first solar panel powered air quality monitors

World's first solar panel powered air quality monitors

Launched at the Pollutec 2016 exhibition, ENVEA's eco-designed analyzers (measuring O3, CO, SO2, NOx and PM10 & PM2.5 fine particulates) continue to revolutionize the world of measurement by fulfilling a new and even more ambitious challenge: make the station 100% autonomous thanks to a solar panels powering. Always in compliance with the performance criteria defined by the latest European legislation, the range of criteria pollutant analyzers is now available with 24 V power supply. While preserving their remarkable metrological performances unchanged, their already very low energy consumption has been halved to reach a total of 300 W/h for the 5 devices, where other analyzers on the market consume more than 1,300 W/h. In addition, the operating temperature range of these pollution monitors has been extended to 50 °C while the equivalent devices on the market cannot exceed 40 °C and must operate in an air-conditioned enclosure. Today more than 20,000 pollution monitoring stations connected to an electric network are operating worldwide. The energy savings potential is thus huge. For example, the 670 measurement stations spread over the French territory would generate a saving of approximatively 20,000 kWh / day, which is the equivalent to an annual consumption of nearly 1,500 homes.
