RECOVER
Industry could recover 100 terawatt hours from its activity.
This waste heat represents one third of the industry's fossil fuel consumption. Cyrielle Borde, head of the industry department at ADEME, explains the major challenge that this recovery represents in decarbonisation.
The main challenge? Creating territorial synergies between neighbours to create a heating network. Recently, in Mulhouse, several industries used their surplus energy for other factories or to heat the equivalent of 20,000 homes in the city centre.
