In partnership with the UPDS, Pollutec is highlighting the latest techniques and regulations for the decontamination of soils in the Sites and Soils Village:
> The presentation of several innovative techniques for the treatment or break down of pollutants in soils and the investigation of pollution at the survey and measurement stage…
> Feedback showing the links between decontamination and sustainable development (remediation of sites, eco-quarters, projects combining decontamination and energy production…).
> Two talks will present the latest institutional developments in the field of sites and soils: the official presentation of a completely new certification reference system; and a comparison of French and Dutch policy for the management of excavated earth.

Sales of €490 million in 2007 (+8%/year since 2007)The activity enjoys a favourable legal framework and France’s industrial heritage also encourages its expansion: :
> The plan for the relaunch of the economy presented in December 2008 includes a special drive to treat polluted urban wasteland as part of the "Model State" programme.
> The Grenelle de l'environnement (French environment initiative) envisages annual funding of €35M to promote the recovery of polluted sites and soils over the 2009 to 2011 period.
> Sites listed in 2009/
- Some 3,900 polluted or potentially polluted sites calling for action by the public authorities are listed in Basol
- Over 180,000 former industrial or service activities listed in Basias
