Thematic Focuses

  • Thematic Focuses

  • In addition to the 14 exhibition sectors, Pollutec has developped 5 thematic focuses with transversal and integrated approaches: Sustainable City and Industry Revolution, or representing application markets with specific needs: Sea & Coastline, Hospital & Sustainable Development and Sustainable Agriculture.

  • Sustainable City

    Sustainable Industry

    Sea & Coastline

    Plastics

    Sustainable Agriculture

    Hospital & SD

  • Sustainable City

  • This focus, spanning the various sectors of Pollutec, allows decision-makers, key influencers and technicians from the town, and more widely the local authorities, to understand the most recent innovations, solutions, equipment and technologies to optimise services, infrastructures and networks and thus improve residents' quality of life.

This area also provides a global perspective of the various levers and actions relating to the energy, numerical and ecological transition, the realities of which most affect the neighbourhoods, cities and regions.

  • Sustainable Industry

  • This focus, spanning the various sectors of Pollutec, presents the most recent technical and organisational advances as well as the regulations that enable industrialists to modernise their installations, improve productivity and manage their flow of energy, water and materials, thus adopting practices that have a lesser impact on the environment and limit the risks associated with the industrial activity.

  • Sea & Coastline

  • This thematic focus aims to highlight the major challenges of significantly degraded marine and coastal habitats, and to mobilise public and private stakeholders and the NGOs on working together to effectively combat the various forms of pollution and marine waste higher up the chain, 80% of which being caused by human activity on earth, and ensure that the biodiversity of these natural ecosystem, crucial for the Earth's balance, is restored and preserved.

    Our partners

  • Plastics

  • The extent of the plastics economy (6% of the world's oil production) illustrates the importance of supporting the transition towards a circular economy that will reduce the health and environmental impacts of plastic waste and pollution.

  •   A common challenge for economic players

    • Ambitious French and European targets for recycling and reducing plastic waste and packaging
2025: 100% of plastic to be recycled (France)
2030: 100% of plastic to be recycled (European strategy)
    • Investment in new opportunities, practices and innovative technologies
      (bioplastics, recycling R&D etc.).
    • Voluntary cooperation
in a value chain for the plastics economy (project to obtain signatures for Green Deals known as ECVs in France; Enterprises-European Commission multi-party agreements; European strategy for plastics etc.).
      Priorities with strong resonance

    • Treating and preventing the health and environmental impacts of plastic wastes
The oceans are now a significantly degraded habitat, threatening the future of marine ecosystems and their biodiversity. The Pollutec "Sea and Coastline" area, launched in 2016, will continue to inform action and cooperation to combat and prevent at early stages inland aquatic and marine pollution, consisting mostly of solid and microscopic plastic waste.
    • Organising the circular transition of the plastics economy
(Circular Economy French Roadmap; European Circular Economy action plan...) within a global context and evolutionary local frameworks.
      Pollutec's multi-sector, multi-player privileged context

    • The recycling sector in the front line
to instigate and support objectives, strategies and markets development.
    • Eco-industries
associated in the wide challenge to combat and prevent plastic waste pollution.
    • Global and cross-cutting approaches highlighted in the sustainable cities and industries zones
together with the agricultural focus (indicating the current limits of agricultural plastics recycling), which cover both the civic and the industrial aspects of a new circular economy for plastics.
    • Development opportunities
for relocating plastics recycling and materials value chains, increasing polymers performance into products benefiting energy efficiency in the global economy, and observing wise uses of plastics materials.
  •

    During the event

A dedicated area on the exhibition floor for stakeholders to meet and dialogue

A conference themed programme, both sector-specific and interdisciplinary, involving all plastics players.

  • Sustainable Agriculture

  • This thematic focus aims to respond to growing expectations from agricultural players looking to evolve their practices towards more ecological models that follow natural cycles by tapping into the environmental expertise acquired by the environmental professionals and the various water, soil, risk, biodiversity and waste-to-energy management sectors that come together at Pollutec.
