Electric Heater Equipped with a Connected Battery
Presentation :Lancey is a young company created in 2016 by a PhD in thermal science and a battery engineer in order to develop innovative solutions in the distributed energy storage and smart grids. Their mission is to combine comfort and accessibility of electric heating for renovation and new construction while enabling the integration of renewable energy on the grid thanks to energy storage.
Lancey offers Rheia, a stylish electric heater that is able to play with his energy: this new heater allows inhabitants and housing agencies to reduce their energy bills thanks to a battery that stores energy and thanks to limited investment. Using a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery together with the Linky energy meter, Lancey is indeed capable of storing energy at the best price and to consume it later when the price is less favorable. This helps inhabitants make significant savings: the device reduces heating bills by up to 50% on a first generation heater, and it remains a 75% cheaper investment than installing a gas heating solution.
The company is experimenting first prototypes this winter and presents at Pollutec a commercial version of its innovation that will be sold in 2017.
